Currently, the PlayReady PC Runtime is only for Windows distribution though as we said above, it can be ported to other portable devices using systems like codecs, OS, media players, and more. It’s a direct competitor to Apple’s FairPlay system.
Features of PlayReady PC Runtime
PlayReady PC Runtime has a host of new features that were not present in the other DRM schemes available. This includes the inclusion of domain, embedded licenses, envelopes, and more. It also comes with Microsoft’s adaptive streaming feature, i.e. IIS Smooth Streaming.
How to remove PlayReady PC Runtime?
Removing the PlayReady PC Runtime can be easily installed from the system. Here’s how you can do it.
Step 1: Access the Add/Remove Program from Control Panel
- Click on the Start Menu
- Select the Control Panel
- Click on Programs
- Now click on Uninstall a Program for Windows 7/8/Vista. If you are using Windows XP, click on Add or Remove Programs.
Step 2: Find PlayReady PC Runtime
- Find the program in the list under Uninstall/ Add or Remove options.
- For Windows 7/8/Vista, click on Uninstall. For Windows XP, click on Remove or Change/ Remove program.
- Proceed to follow the steps further.
- Your program will be uninstalled or removed from your PC.
